Behind The Lens: A Week in Bath

Bath-BTS-Main-Banner.jpg

Step behind the lens of our Autumn/Winter shoot in Bath — from unexpected sunshine to wool coats and scarves in full swing. Discover the candid moments, the gentlemanly style, and a first look at our newest Harris Tweed® shades, Burdock and Nettle.

When we chose Bath as the backdrop for our Autumn shoot, we imagined crisp cobbled streets, golden leaves swirling in the breeze, hands wrapped around warm mugs of cocoa and a bracing nip in the air.

Autumn in a Heatwave

What we got? 32°C, relentless sunshine, and one of the hottest weeks the UK has seen in years.

Naturally, we arrived armed with wool coats, scarves, tweed suits.

Bath, with its Georgian architecture, Roman history, and postcard-pretty streets, gave us the perfect backdrop we needed, but our models were melting in knitwear while tourists walked past in shorts and flip-flops.

New Tweeds (Hotter Than the Weather)

Two new Jacket colours made their debut: a nettle green and an exquisite burdock purple Harris Tweed®. Rich, refined, and perfectly tailored, they stood out beautifully against Bath’s honey-hued stone (held up heroically by our stoic models in a 30-degree heat, aided by an emergency iced coffee run.)

Movie Magic on a Budget: The Raincoat Trick

Shooting rainwear in a heatwave? Impractical. But not impossible.

Enter: one watering can, one remarkably patient stylist, and a touch of well-honed improvisation. Between takes, we dashed in to “refresh” the raincoats with a carefully timed sprinkle—creating that just-walked-through-a-storm look without a cloud in sight.

Confused locals. Bemused tourists. Some excellent shots.

Of course, the unusually glorious weather meant the greenery was thriving. A little too much, in fact. So, in between adjusting lapels and tweaking lighting, the team found themselves doing a spot of impromptu weeding—plucking the odd daisy or dandelion from the cobbles to restore that bleak midwinter charm.

Moments to Remember

– Our photographer Rod saying “Nice” approximately 70,284 times. (Each time justified.)

– Three bottles of sun cream. Sixty litres of water.

– Ninety-three steps climbed daily to reach the top floor of our Georgian townhouse.

– An undisclosed but slightly shameful number of Pastéis de Nata from Nata & Co Bakery.

Special mention to our model Glen, who not only looked effortlessly sharp in our new collection but also seemed to attract every lady in Bath. Whether it was the tailoring, the cheeky smile, or just an irresistible bit of model magic—we may never know. But he handled the attention like a true professional.

Despite the heat, Bath was everything we hoped for: historic, cinematic, and just the right balance of grandeur and grit. From the ancient Roman Baths to the sweeping views of the Royal Crescent, it gave our collection the storybook stage it deserved—even if we were quietly melting behind the scenes.

The best part? You’d never know. In the final shots, the essence of Autumn comes alive. The coats look crisp. The knits cosy. The streets glow with golden leaves, as if kissed by a gentle morning mist rather than drenched in sunshine—no hint of the sunburn, iced lattes, or stealthy suncream top-ups behind the scenes.

Special thanks to our photographer Rod and our brilliant models for their teamwork, patience, and good humour—whether they were lugging clothes around the cobbled streets of Bath, braving knitwear under a blazing sun, or dodging stray watering-can showers in the name of fashion. It takes a certain kind of dedication (and sunscreen) to make winter look this good.
